The wedding industry has changed quite a bit over the last several years. The “Echo Boomers” are the new group of engaged couples. They are the children of the “Baby Boomers” coming to marrying age. They average in age from 26 to 29 and are getting married somewhat later in life after they are stable, educated and have good jobs.

The growing trend among this generation is the gaining popularity of the Destination Wedding. They are finding that they can spend less than a domestic wedding due to the fact that most resorts now cater to weddings and include everything from the Wedding Coordinator to the food, drinks and entertainment.

The average domestic wedding averages $25,000 apposed to the average Destination Wedding coming in at around $16,500. The other bonus is that the guests pay for themselves and get to have fun too. For a little more than traveling to a domestic wedding, the guests get a mini vacation that is truly enjoyable.

Destination Weddings have grown to represent 16% of the of all U.S. weddings in 2005. This reflects an increase of 400 % over the last ten years according to a survey conducted by the Conde’ Nast Bridal Group.

The most popular region for a destination wedding is Riviera Maya, Mexico. Adult only resorts, such as El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Seaside Suites, Royal Hideaway Playacar or Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun are a great place to have that special day.

Imagine the beautiful resorts, cruises and destinations all over the world for wedding options. Bare foot on the beach with all your friends and family at sunset sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
